Jim Crow Law

A total unfair law: If you are a white teacher and you work at a black school you will need to pay a fine up to 50 dollars the same if you are a black teacher working at a white school you will need to also pay a fine.

This law was passed in Oklahoma around the 1800 until the 1900s. Since back then the laws where completely unfair they probably thought that the white or black teacher might get "contaminated" by the opposite colored children. I find this law unfair, pointless and just plain racist. One of the things that annoys me the most is some people where OK with this! It disgusts me just by thinking about it. The best thing about humans is that we are different.

How my Mom got Married.

                      How my Mom got Married

My mom  and dad met on Mother's Day at a local cafe in New York.  Their first conversation began over a chess game. . . and it continued on to another chess game, and then another. My mom doesn't remember who won, although my dad claims he was the winner each and every time.  That summer,  my dad proposed to my mom at Astoria Park by the Hudson River.  On November 5, 1997 (6 months after they met) they were married by a judge in a NYC court house.  On that day, they brought along two friends who thought my mom was just going to the court house to pay a parking fine (they didn't know they were coming to serve  as witnesses).  They were quite surprised when they finally realized what they were  there for! After thecourt wedding my dad gave my mom an engagement ring (kind of in reverse order), which he presented to her while she was brushing her teeth in the bathroom! A religious wedding was important to my dad and my mom's family so they arranged to have one that summer. My mom bought her dress in New York and flew to Cyprus with my dad where they were finally married by a priest.  My grandmother had made all of the arrangements, which included over 200 guests at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia. Although 200 guests is considered a "small" wedding party in Cyprus, my mom still found it excessive (especially since she only knew about 10 of the 200 guests!)  My dad really liked it though. I guess my mom's marriage was a mix of non-traditional and traditional events. I would like to have a big wedding with yummy cake and abig party. When I look through the channels and find nothing I watch the wedding channel. I enjoy attending weddings because it is always the most special day of the bride and grooms life. I hope my marige will be succsesful like my moms.

How I got my name
As most of you know my full name is Anna Kristina Savva.  Anna can be used all around the world sounding the same. Anna is the mother of virgin Mary. She is one of the main gods in Christianity.
Anna is mostly heard in Spain, Sweeden and in the U.S.A. Kristina is mostly heard in English, Scandanavian, German,Czech,Slovene,Lithuanian, Serbian and Bulgarian.
My last name Savva is mostly popular in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Spain.
Here are some things I got off the internet
First name of Anna has given you a quick-minded, sensitive nature.

It gives you a clever, creative ability in art, music, singing, or drama and an appreciation for refined surroundings.Your sociable nature expresses affection, kindness, and thoughtfulness to the extent that it is difficult for you not to be affected by others and governed by your emotions, rather than by logic and reason. As you respond to love and encouragement from others, your romantic and dreamy nature can easily lead you into love affairs.

The name Anna creates the urge to understand others. FROM : http://www.kabalarians.com/

My name Anna is from my moms mom my grandma whos name happend to be Anna. My grandma wanted me to be Ana instead of Anna. My parents said no. Then my other grandma wanted to call me Aspasia like her.(eww...) So of course another no went there. That is why I am Anna.

Then Kristina came up because my mom and dad just liked Kristina. When ever I say my name Kristina everybody says oh its wrong it needs to be Christina. Well no it is Kristina. I really like Kristina even though I also like the name Tifany... sorry now where was I oh yes. Kristina is a name that if it is translated to greek it sounds the same wich is good of course.
My last name Savva is from my dads side and I like Savva as well as Anna or Kristina. I like it because it is easy short and memorable. Once my past familly name was somthing hard to say out loud it was somthing with drako wich is dragon. My great grand parents lived with that name.
 Kristina Savva
Well thats it.

One of me and my family's traditions is probably the Easter bunny.
In Cyprus not many kids have heard of the Easter bunny.
The Easter bunny is a human sized bunny that comes on the night of Easter and leaves a basket filled with toys and candy.Sometimes the Easter bunny hides plastic eggs with toys, jokes or Candy's inside, and in the morning everyone searches for the eggs.

We never really get to see the Easter bunny so I guess he is kind of like Santa but just a bunny and not human plus instead of a beard he has fur and...
Well maybe he is not exactly the same.

We usually leave a salad or a carrot for the Easter bunny and in the morning find nibbles on the carrot or find an empty bowl with a bit of lettus and tomatoes .It is entertaining to find toys , books and other stuff besides Christmas and birthdays!I hope our tradition stays for as long as it can! The Easter Bunny's basket of mystery eggs!
